He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Brouwer and Kathryn Brouwer (Ostercamp); his parents-in-law, Jake and Flora Mehmen; his siblings-in-law, Derold, Kenneth Mehmen, David Thronson, David Roelfs and Marilyn Roelfs; his nephew Eric Mehmen; and his great-nephew Matthew Stawniak.
He is survived by: his wife Marlene Ellen Mehmen; his children, Jill Murra (Marlyn) of Parkersburg and Daniel Brouwer (Shelby) of Aplington; his grandchildren, Brian Murra of Waukee, Sara Craft (Nick) of Collins, Hunter Brouwer (Alli) of Denver and Jaxson Brouwer of Aplington; his siblings, Steven (Sherry) of Urbandale and Ardelle Janssen (Hollis) of Ackley; and his siblings-in-law, Roland Mehmen (Norma) of Aplington, Betty Thronson of Ackley, Betty Mehmen (Lloyd Tatro) of Hastings and Judy Mehmen of Aplington.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 9th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the First Reformed Church (905 Caldwell St, Aplington, IA 50604). A memorial service was held on Monday, March 10th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. The days were long for Wayne because of his difficulties with his eyesight and the pandemic.
