He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Schwarz and Mata Schwarz (Beyer); his siblings, Norbert, Fred Jr. Schwarz and Donna Mae Schwarz; and his great grandchild Robert Lee Bails.
He is survived by: his wife JoAnne Lee Stevens of Aplington; his children, Jim Jr. Schwarz (Rebekah) of Fairfield, Joel Schwarz (Sheila) of Chaska and Julee Fox (Daren) of Linwood, Kansas; his grandchildren, Rachel Bails (Nick), Daniel Schwarz (Cheyenne), Keri Vogt (Chet), Isaac, Nathan, Evan Schwarz, Paige and Sawyer Fox; and his great grandchildren, Jensen, Callen, Weston Vogt and Levi Bails.
