He was predeceased by: his parent Reka Schipper (Marks); his daughter Sheri Franken; his grandson Travis Franken; his father Conrad Schipper; and his brothers, Joe, Alvin, Fred, Larry, Roger and Ronnie Schipper.

He is survived by: his wife Lois of Gladbrook; his children, Jolyn Timmer (Gaylen) of Parkersburg, Ranae Diekman (Bob) of Bird Island, Minnesota and Chad Schipper (Nichole) of Aplington; his grandchildren, Christopher Siems (Cristina), Ryan Siems, Matt Timmer (Amber), Nicole Wasierski (Dave), Samantha Loebs, Drew Diekman, Bailie, Jacob Schipper, Jason Franken (Julie) and Amy Simon (Steve); his siblings, Robert Schipper (Eunice) of Kesley, Vern Schipper (Mattie) of Mansfield, Texas and Sharon Schneiderman (Doyle) of Parkersburg; and his sisters-in-law, Esther Schipper of Parkersburg, Marcia Schipper of Kesley and Frances Schipper of Kesley. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.
