He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Joan DeGroot of Aplington; his children, Michael Hippen (Wanda) of Parkersburg, Lisa Hippen of Aplington, Lynn Seedorff (D. Nick) of Janesville and Matthew Hippen of Gladbrook, Iowa; his grandchildren, Justin, Luke, Samuel, John, Eve, Keagan and Jace; his siblings, Gordon Hippen (Joann) of Aplington and Glenda Ludwig of Hawley, Minnesota; and his sister-in-law JoAnn Hippen of Parkersburg.
