She was predeceased by: her parents, Paradea Verna Simmons (VanErem) and Mervin Simmons; her sister Juanita Guyer; her niece Suzanne Simmons; and her nephew Mervin Simmons.

She is survived by: her children, Lisa Vanderlind of Marion, Alexis Beadle (Brock) of Hampton, Iowa and John Simmons of Sacramento, California; her grandsons, Robert Vanderlind and Benjamin Simmons; and her siblings, Mervin Simmons (Lucille), Tom Simmons (Kerry), Kathy Roy (Rob) and Katie Torrey.
