He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Downey and Ruth Downey (Whitesell); his wife Reba Downey; his parents-in-law, Gilbert and Mildred Downing; his children, Raleigh Downey and Linda Roggatz; his son-in-law Ron Roggatz; his sister Diane Banta; and his great grandchildren, James and Hannah Lawler.
He is survived by: his son Roger Downey of Logan, Iowa; his daughter-in-law Kathy Downey of Lawton, Iowa; his grandchildren, Corey Roggatz and Crystal Lawler (Kurt); his daughter Grace; his grandchildren, Suri, Nevaeh, Cassi Downey and Jacob Downey; his brother Larry Downey (Lori) of Correctionville, Iowa; and his brothers-in-law, Marvin Downing (Kathy) of Oto and Ardell "Butch" Banta of Salix, Iowa. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, as well as extended family and friends.
