He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Gilbert and Caren Downing (Zimmerman). He is survived by: his daughters, Shea-Lynn Fernald of Tucson, Arizona and Sarah Downing of Tucson, Arizona; his granddaughters, Zoe and Aurora Payne; and his sisters, Jessica Liekweg, Shelly Downing, Patty Downing and Toni Leigh Downing. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.
