With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sid Vander Ploeg of Ankeny, Iowa, born in Des Moines, Iowa, who passed away on September 13, 2020 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Roy Vander Ploeg and Almeda Vander Ploeg (Green); his wife Diane Vander Ploeg (Pendroy); his son Samran Vander Ploeg; his grandsons, Kayden Vander Ploeg and Kyler Vander Ploeg; his sister Priscilla Peterson (Pete); his nieces and nephews, Andrew and E. J.; his brother Craig Vander Ploeg; his nieces, Jenny and Jill; his nephew Chad; his sister-in-law Janet Bacus (Pendroy); his son Hung Luu; and his parents-in-law, Dale Pendroy and Mae Pendroy. He was also cherished by cousins, and a host of friends. including many new friends.

Due to Covid concerns and Sid's emphasis on safety during this time there will be no public funeral.
