With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley Brown of Ankeny, Iowa, born in Emmetsburg, Iowa, who passed away on November 18, 2021 at the age of 94. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Shirley Brown to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Gappa and Josephine Gappa (Steil); her husband Robert D. Brown; her children, Jacqueline and Jackie Harman; and her siblings, Marion Beatty, Elaine Smith and Joe Gappa of Emmetsburg.

She is survived by: her son Bob Brown (Kathy) of Arnolds Park, IA; her grandchildren, Camie, Holly and Dan Brown (Jane) of Belmont, NC; her great grandchildren, Ryan, Steve and Adam; her children, Tom, Jennifer and Jeanice Finnegan (Mark) of Sioux Falls, SD; her grandchildren, Mike, Katie and Matt; her daughter Julie Bright (Dave) of New Hartford; her grandchildren, Ben and Krystal; her daughter Jolene Hanson of Ankeny, IA; her grandchildren, Josh and Kayla; and her children, Maddison, Jacob Harman, Andrew Brown (Ellen) of Arlington Heights, IL and Mike. She is also survived by 23 great grandchildren as well as extended family and friends.
