She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester Metz and Phyllis Metz. She is survived by: her husband Dan; her daughter Karen Bender (Jason); her grandchildren, Will, Libby and Ella; and her siblings, Rhonda Kimrey (Joe), Roger Metz (Deb), Randy Metz (Gigi) and Ray Metz (Kim). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, she requested contributions to be made to American Cancer Society, Alzheimer's Association, St. Jude Children's Hospital or University of Iowa Children's Hospital.
