She is survived by: her brother Jimmy; her husband Ralph Shanks; her children, Tonya Krohn (Fred) and Mark Shanks; her granddaughters, Erin Scanlan (Chuck) and Kate Shanks; her brother Ed Tighe; and also, James and Bertha Tighe. She is also survived by numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Foundation or the Animal Rescue League of Des Moines, Iowa.
