He was predeceased by: his parents, Melbourne Simpson and Merna Simpson; and his sister Patricia Beaulieu (Gregson). He is survived by: his wife Shirley Ann Simpson (Spilde); his sister Marilyn Loebach; his children, Michael Simpson, David Simpson and Lori Sykes (Lee); his grandchildren, Travis Simpson (Katie), Chase Simpson, Paige Durian (Blake), Grant Simpson and Trenton Owens; and his great grandchildren, Wyatt Durian, Isaac Durian, Aaron Durian, Leroy Ownes and Juniper Simpson.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Ankeny Funeral Home & Crematory (1510 W 1st St, Ankeny, IA 50023). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at 4:30 PM at the same location.
