He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Theodore Flemming and Veronica Mary Flemming (Cauley); his siblings, Bernard Flemming and Mary Jo Flemming; and his grandson Alexander Ewy.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Flemming of Ankeny, IA; his siblings, Vincent Flemming (Shirley) of Wakonda, SD, Paul Flemming (Connie) of Florence, SD, Francis Flemming of Watertown, SD and Madelyn Kozitza of Burnsville, MN; and his children, Joe Flemming (Kim) of Tijeras, NM, James Flemming (Shauna) of Lambertville, NJ, Jerry Flemming of Iowa Park, TX, Pat Flemming (Denise) of Dekalb, IL, Dr. Donna Ewy (Charles) of Wichita, KS and Darlene Fritz of Wichita, KS. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in John's name to Link Associates, Suncrest Home Health and Hospice of West Des Moines, or Our Lady's Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Ankeny.
