It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Gardner Jr. of Ankeny, Iowa, who passed away on March 3, 2021, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Opal and John Gardner Sr.; his wife Vicki Gardner; his son Loren Lee Hudson; and his sisters, Esther Sodergren and Joyce Jones.
He is survived by: his close friend Alisa Corll of Ankeny; his son John Gardner III of Des Moines; his grandchildren, John Gardner IV (Jamie) of Des Moines, Joshua Gardner of Des Moines and Courtney Hudson of Ankeny; and his sisters, Annie Chapman (Jerry) of Mississippi and Patti Austin (Lacy) of Texas. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Animal Rescue League in loving memory of John.
