He is survived by: his children, Carrie Fuller (Cameron) and Erik Carlson (Erin); his wife Carol Van Auken; and his grandchildren, Chase Fuller (Whitney), Cailyn Shelton (Hayden), Logan Carlson (Grace Meter), Caleb Carlson and Jonah Carlson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his honor to Keystone Church and/or the Kirkendall Public Library both located in Ankeny, Iowa.
