With profound sadness, we say goodbye to John Carlson (Ankeny, Iowa), born in Danville, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. John left this world on August 25, 2024 at the age of 82, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Bror Carlson and Lucille Carlson. He is survived by: his children, Carrie Fuller (Cameron) and Erik Carlson (Erin); his wife Carol Van Auken; and his grandchildren, Chase Fuller (Whitney), Cailyn Shelton (Hayden), Logan Carlson (Grace Meter), Caleb Carlson and Jonah Carlson.

Visitation was held on Sunday, September 1st 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Keystone Church (5525 NE Delaware Ave, Ankeny, IA 50021). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 1st 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his honor to Keystone Church and/or the Kirkendall Public Library both located in Ankeny, Iowa.
