He was predeceased by: his parents, Elizabeth Thompson and Joe Thompson; and his siblings, Janet Weston, Glen Thompson, Jack Thompson and Jean Buzick.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy; his children, Susan Smith (Buck), Tim Thompson (Kris) and Mike Thompson (Kara); his sister Margaret Crossland; his grandchildren, Deanna Harrer (Seth), Nathan Smith (Lauren), Nicholas Smith (Sally), Elizabeth Johnson (Tyler), Davis Thompson (Alyssa), Sarah Thompson, Cade and Audra Thompson; and his great grandchildren, Ian, Emme (Deanna), Reid, Benson (Nathan), McCoy, Quinn (Nick), Charlotte (Davis) and Arley (Elizabeth).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Unity Point Hospice.
