He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Carey and Docie Carey (Lyles); and his siblings, Marjorie Carey, Ina Snell and Eugene Carey.

He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Jane Wheeler; and his sons, Clifford (Jeannine), Roger (Patricia), Hank (Cindy), Mark (Elizabeth) and Jeffrey (Maria). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of God.
