Delores Faye Gunnarson Obituary

We are sad to announce that on November 27, 2021, at the age of 89, Delores Faye Gunnarson of Ankeny, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, George Pettengill and Ora Pettengill (Young); her husband Robert K. Gunnarson; and her sisters, Virginia Beacham, Shirley Pettengill, Donna Schmidt, Lavonne Harwood (Bonnie) and Sheryl Messerole.

She is survived by: her brother Donald Pettengill of Cresco, Iowa; her children, Richard Gunnarson (Janice) of Indianola, Robert Gunnarson (Barbara) of Grimes and Marcia Gering of Ankeny, Iowa; her grandchildren, Kelley Schmitz (Jason), Kimberly Schou (Tim), Kristi Kerner (Joe) and Ryan Gering; and her great grandchildren, Hadley, Grant Schmitz, Nora Schou and Jordan Kerner. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Delores had a love of animals, especially dogs, so the family asks that memorials be directed to Des Moines Animal Rescue League (ARL).
