He was predeceased by: his parents, Louise Vols and Morris Vols; and his brother Ronald. He is survived by: his wife Marlene Witt; his daughter Christine Weiland (Jeff); his grandsons, Aston and Carter; and his sisters, Ilene Hagen and Lillian Sesma.
The family will accept flowers or memorials donations. Memorial donations can be made to the American Legion Baldwin-Patterson in Des Moines or Ankeny Fire Department "Adam Nelsen Fund".
