He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, LeLand Carnes and Fern Carnes (Weeks); his children, Shane Carnes of Niederwald, Dale Carnes Jr. of Des Moines, Iowa, Kim Frost of Des Moines and Jeanie Sommars of Ankeny, Iowa; his wife Lyla Kay Carnes; and his son Beryle Frank Carnes. He was also cherished by eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
