He is survived by: his children, Brent William and Megan Marie; his wife Debbie; his family, Brent and Anna Ver Ploeg of Grimes; his grandsons, Benjamin, Andrew and Ethan Ver Ploeg; his family, Megan and Brad Beebe of Adel; his grandchildren, William Beebe and Brooklyn Beebe; his siblings, Alan Ver Ploeg (Rita) of Laramie, WY, Mary Vander Wilt of Pella, Elaine Derringer (Don) of Pella and Brenda Faro of Pella; his mother-in-law Irene Van Wyk of Pella; and his siblings-in-law, Kathy Ver Ploeg (Duane), Marla Waddle (Gary) and Michael Van Wyk (Andrea) of Pella. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Habitat for Humanities or Hope Ministries-Des Moines.
