Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Adam David Steffensmeier of Ankeny, Iowa, born in Fort Madison, Iowa, who passed away at the age of 37, on February 22, 2021. He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Billy, June Plassmeyer and Phyllis Steffensmeier; and his stepmother Jeanne Steffensmeier. He is survived by: his parents, David J. Steffensmeier (Carrie) of Nauvoo, Illinois and Carol A. Steffensmeier (Plassmeyer) of West Point; his son Bryant Steffensmeier; his sisters, Holly Thompson (Jonathon) of Santa Barbara, Kara Tweedy of West Point and Morgan Gonzalez (Jason) of West Point, Iowa; his grandparents, Vern Steffensmeier, Gene and Alvera Merschman; and his child Courtney Hill. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his memory for his son Bryant's education.

“Carol, Young Mr. Arnold, Dave, Lisa and Mark: My heart is broken for you. There's nothing inspirational to say. I wish there were. I, too, have a April, 1984 son. He's a redhead. I guess God did see me dancing on tables at the Zodiac. I also have a child who was shot at C-2 on the spinal cord. It was devastating, so my heart, knows your hearts tonight.
