It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vinita Gravett-Strickland of Anita, Iowa, who passed away on March 20, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Archie Williams and Bertha Williams (Sickels); her siblings, Vivian, Virginia, Delmar and Dale; and her former husbands, Lloyd Teager and Victor Gravett.
She is survived by: her friend David Strickland; her husband David Strickland of Anita, Iowa; her children, Shelley Shockey (Todd) of Mineola, Iowa and Kevin Gravett of Council Bluffs, Iowa; her grandchildren, Alicia, Kyle, Dalton, Kelley and Kristy; her sisters, Veronica Turner of Council Bluffs and Verlene Holste (Wayne) of Atlantic; and her pet Roxie. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorials may be made to the family for later designation to College of the Ozarks Music Department.
