We are sad to announce that on June 7, 2020 we had to say goodbye to Lynette Steele of Anita, Iowa, born in Council Bluffs, Iowa. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Vorthmann and LuEtta Vorthmann. She is survived by: her son Tyler; her husband Doug; her daughter Erin Blake (Mark); her brothers, William Vorthmann (Ann) and Roger Vorthmann (Ann); her sister-in-law Teri King (Jerry); her mother-in-law Jo Steele; and her nieces and nephews, Chad Vorthmann (Garin), Cody West, Deb Miller (George), Rachel Dyke, Sarah Vandevanter (Adam) and Erica Shipman (Josh). She is also survived by 13 grandnieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Lynette Steele Memorial Scholarship or St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

“I am sure you already know that Lynette was a lovely a person as one would ever meet. A fantastic mom, wife, farmer and teacher! It would be impossible to estimate the number of people who were impacted by her presence in their lives. We can count as blessings anytime we have the chance to meet someone and to have known someone like Lynette. In particular I will enjoy the memories of visiting in the cattle barns, keeping track of Doug and Erin through Lynette :-). Brad S.”
