Helen Marie Zimmerman Obituary

We are sad to announce that on September 19, 2022 we had to say goodbye to Helen Marie Zimmerman of Anita, Iowa. Leave a sympathy message to the family in the guestbook on this memorial page of Helen Marie Zimmerman to show support.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Stella Mae and Charles Wesley Garlock; her husband Warren "Zim" Zimmerman; and her son Scott Alan. She is survived by : her children, Diane Rae (David), Richard K (Annette) and Steven Lee (Jackie). She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, and 38 great-grandchildren.

She taught Sunday school for 15 years, did lay visitation for the church, and was a hospital volunteer at the Methodist Hospital beginning in the early 1960s, continuing until the program was suspended for Covid.

In lieu of flowers, Helen would prefer contributions to Christ United Methodist Church or Mayo Clinic Hospice.

Doug garlock wrote a sympathy message

“I am so sorry to hear of Aunt Billy's passing. Aunt Anita Rust sent me a birthday card and told me. I really enjoyed talking with Aunt Billy quite a bit when Caryl garlock was living with me for several years. They had such a good time playing bridge with Zim and Aunt Billy. Caryl passed 2 years ago. but Aunt Billy called during my open heart surgery and recovery. She was very supportive and concerned which I appreciated very much. I hope you peace with all the great memories. Doug Garlock”
