Gene Hackwell Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gene Hackwell of Anita, Iowa, who passed away on May 30, 2020 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Edward Hackwell and Marie Hackwell (Wahlert); his parents-in-law, Elmer and Leitha Jensen (Dorsey); his grandson Brian Zimmerline; and his siblings, Edward Hackwell (Dixie), Joan Knutter (Karl), Marilyn Byrd (Clark) and Sue Christensen (Andy).

He is survived by : his wife Naomi Hackwell (Jensen); his children, Chris Hackwell (Beatrice) of Johnstown, CO, Denise Zimmerline (Kevin) of Adair, IA, Gloria Nelson (Mike) of Dundee, IA and Mona Christensen (David) of Anita, IA; and his sisters-in-law, Darlene Petersen (Kendall) and Phyllis Rodgers (Bob). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Anita Volunteer Fire Department and the Anita United Methodist Church.
