With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty Wahlert of Anita, Iowa, who passed away on October 26, 2021 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Goldie Hackwell (Wahlert) and John Hackwell; her husband Alvin Wahlert; her parents-in-law, Emma (Nieman) and Henry Wahlert; her sisters, Mary Louise and Nadene Mortensen; her siblings-in-law, Raymond Mortensen, Doris Dorsey and Bryon Burhman; and her nephew Brad Burhman.
She is survived by: her siblings, Audubon and Guthrie; her children, Jerry Wahlert of Bellevue, NE, Steve Wahlert of Anita, Kathy Blazek (Kirk Kelloway) of Anita, Dennis Wahlert (Tammy Edwards) of Anita, Dave Wahlert (Tina) of Anita and Becky Meyer (Mark) of Powhattan, KS.; her grandchildren, Erika Schulz (John) of Bellevue, NE., Katie Wahlert-Smith (Joe Smith) of Washington, D. C., Marty Wahlert (Anna) of Herrenberg, Germany, Arin Blazek (Kyla) of Nashville, TN., Amber Taliaferro (Jason) of Topeka, KS., Craig Wahlert (Amanda) of Anita, Ryan Wahlert (Sara) of Anita, Jen Anderson (Jon) of Hudson, Nick Wahlert (Emily Drusch) of Boone, Zack Wahlert (Gabby) of Anita, Brookelyn Wahlert (Max Schlawin) of Marshallton, Collin Kelloway of Anita, Emily Meyer of Manhattan, KS and Sadie (Joey Meyer); her great grandchildren, Jonathan, Rockelle, Logan, Elliana Walker, Jack, Jeff Schulz, Cooper, Macey, Reece, Quincy Blazek, Daphna, Ailey Wahlert, Paisley, Kamden, Finley Wahlert, Madison Resendez, Joselyn Anderson, Mira, Ava, Molly Taliaferro, Milena, Elisa, Samuel Wahlert, Addy, Brayden Wahlert and Henry Smith; her siblings, Evelyn Jacobsen (Larry) of Menlo, Sharon Alliss (Roy) of Dexter and Dale Hackwell (Carol) of Jesup; and her sisters-in-law, Lynn Dorsey (Carol) of Anita and Velda Burhman of Omaha. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
