He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Bowman and Laura Bowman (Bolt); his wife Florence E. Burkert Roeder; his stepdaughter Jo Ann Heneke; and his brothers, Warren and Owen.
He is survived by: his daughter Cindy Hinke (Norlan) of DeWitt, IA; his stepson Charles Roeder (Pam) of Davenport, Iowa; his grandchildren, Molly Hinke (Matt DeWild) of Davenport and Troy Hinke of Reading, PA; his stepgrandchildren, Kenneth Budde of Maquoketa, Bill Budde (Renee) of Maquoketa, Lisa Kober (Will) of West Branch, IA, Jim Budde (Kim) of Leander, TX, Ann Clark (Randy) of Carmel, IN and John Roeder (Simona) of Lancaster, PA; his great grandchildren, Lex Hinke, Rosalie Hinke and Aza Hinke; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Katie, Morgan Budde, Ben Kober (Micaela Schaller), Kyle Kober (DaBryana Miller), Melanie Jones Dazzo (Sal), Stephanie George (Ben), Alex, Cassidy Budde, Ryan, Lauren, Noel Clark, Dylan and Nathan Roeder. He is also survived by grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be directed to Camp Courageous of Iowa, or the Jackson County Historical Society.
