He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Carl and Evelyn Elaine Cornelius (Davison); and his brother Karl Cornelius. He is survived by: his wife Glenda Joy Jacob of Andrew, IA; his sons, Jacob Cornelius (Virginia) of Baldwin, IA and Jason Cornelius of Andrew, IA; his grandchildren, Lucas and Westyn; and his brothers, Ray Cornelius (Lana) of Huxley, IA and Wayne Cornelius (Lynn).

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to Hospice of Jackson County.
