He was predeceased by: his parents, Takejiro and Yoshi; and his siblings, Takeo, Kanako, George, Mary and Tolmie.

He is survived by: his spouse Sueko "Sue" Hirasawa; his children, Dawn Hirasawa (David Bambrick), Dean Hirasawa and Drake Hirasawa (Heather Meeks); his grandchildren, Emma Bambrick and Jordan Meeks-Hirasawa; and his brother Goro (Grace) of Calgary.

Memorial donations may be made to the St. Marys Memorial Hospital Foundation.
