He was predeceased by: his wife Bessie; his daughters-in-law, Diane and Josie; and his sister Janet Darrow. He is survived by: his children, Jane Shaw of Lisbon, Allen Hartwig of Murrieta, CA, Paula Martin of Cedar Rapids, Steven Hartwig of Marion and Gary Hartwig (Cathi) of Napa, CA; and his brothers, Kenneth and Thomas. He is also survived by 15 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
