It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virgil Lee Behrends of Anamosa, Iowa, born in Monticello, Iowa, who passed away on September 9, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Joyce; his sister Doreen Scholbrock; and his parents, Louis Behrends and Hannah Behrends (Hayen). He is survived by: his sons, Scott (Deb), Todd (Margery), Brett (Stephanie) and Matt (Sonya); his grandchildren, Claire (Jon Marks), Quinn (Margaret), Jennifer (Brandon Groves), Danielle, Kaleb, Hannah (Thomas Postel) and Jake; his great grandchildren, Jadis, Elsie and Mabel; and his brother-in-law James Vacek (Kathy).
