He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Gilbert; his sons, Nathan (Sarah) of Spirit Lake, IA and Jeffrey of Papillion, NE; his grandsons, Dietrich of Spirit Lake and Aaron of Spirit Lake; his siblings, Harvey (Kathy) of California, Lynette Scott (David) of California and Gayle Dirks of California; and his sister-in-law Joyce Dirks.

Due to the current health pandemic properly fitted facemasks, which cover the mouth and nose, must be worn at all times inside the funeral home.
