We bid farewell to Doris Ellen Zimmerman of Anamosa, Iowa, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on February 17, 2025 at the age of 83. Doris Ellen touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Byron Darrow and Doris Darrow (Anderson); and her brothers, Bernard and Robert Darrow. She is survived by: her husband Richard Zimmerman (U. B. Church); her sons, Rick (Carol), Scott (Sarah) and Steve (Jean); and her grandchildren, Tyler, Cortney, Emily, Anthony, Nicholas, Rachael and Sara. She is also survived by great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the First Congregational United Church of Christ (107 E 1st St, Anamosa, IA 52205). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Cedar Memorial Cemetery (4200 1st Ave NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church in Anamosa or to a charity of the donor's choice, in honor of Doris's lifelong spirit of giving.
