He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Arnold Bickford, Wilbur Summers (JR), Roseanne Hitchcock, John Voss and James Wolmutt; and his brother Lance Wolmutt.
He is survived by: his parents, Charles Summers (Marci) of Olin and Cindy Summers (Bickford) of Anamosa; his wife Joleen Zeltner; his children, Rayanne Zeltner (Nick Childress) of Anamosa and Beau Summers of Olin; his grandmothers, Darlene Bickford of Anamosa, Shirley Wolmutt of Central City and Lorna Voss of Anamosa; his siblings, Nycole Ganzhorn (Tom) of Woodbine, Felicia Summers and Joshua Summers (Joleen Zeltner); and his mother-in-law Marlene Levsen of Olin.
Derek gave the ultimate gift of life through the unselfish act of organ donation.
