With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dale Eugene Gerst of Anamosa, Iowa, who passed away on January 31, 2024 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Gerst and Ruby Gerst (Bodenhoffer); and his siblings, Fred, Nadine and George.

He is survived by: his children, C. Ed Gerst (Susan Koppenhaver), Bob Gerst (Linda) of Buffalo Grove, IL and Jerry Gerst; his grandchildren, Brandon Gerst (Megan), Brielle Gerst (Eric Kula), Dominique Gerst, Cassandra Druen (Michael), Sean Gerst (Samantha), Chad Gerst, Aaron Gerst (Adrian) and Andrew Koppenhaver (Emily); his great grandchildren, Leigha, Maddox, Madeline, Madden, Aminah, Milah, Riley, Amelia, Tori, Mia, Abby, Evan, Aidan, Asher and Ross; his brother Leo; and his sister-in-law Lois Gerst.
