We are sad to announce that on December 29, 2024, at the age of 91, Ann Gudenkauf of Anamosa, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Merfeld and Mary Merfeld (Koob); her husband Gerald Gudenkauf; her sons, John and Larry Gudenkauf; her granddaughter Heather Lucas; her son-in-law Steve Metz; and her siblings, Louie, Robert, Francis, Carl (Peggy), Joseph Merfeld (Dolores "Dodie"), Theresa Drew (Ralph), Mary Margaret Ahlers (Lawrence) and Rose Oswald (Earl).
She is survived by: her children, Joann Metz of Williamsburg, Janice Lawrence (Greg) of Delhi, Karen Lucas (Dean) of Manchester, Marv Gudenkauf of Manchester and Linda Ringgenberg (Seth) of Pleasant Hill, MO; her grandchildren, Kellie Byrd (Nate), Christine Metz, Brian Metz (Brittany), Erin Dreessens (Ryan), Ryan Lawrence, Nichole, Kristin Lucas, Michalea Shanahan (Zach) and Makenna Ringgenberg; her great grandchildren, Saylor, Barrett, Gracen Metz, Jameson Dreessens, Kash Crockett and Callum Shanahan; her brother Allen Merfeld (Beverly) of Rockford, IL.; and her in-laws, Gladys Merfeld of Dubuque, Cheryl Merfeld of Garden Prairie, IL and Gerri Merfeld of Benton Harbor, MI..
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church- Ryan (510 Howard St, Ryan, IA 52330). A burial was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at the Calvary Cemetery- Ryan Ryan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family and will be donated to Above and Beyond Hospice, Monticello.
