He was predeceased by: his parents, James Barrie and Lillian Barrie (Streigel); and his siblings, John Robert Barrie (Leda), James Nelson Barrie (Sheila), Berniece McLaughlin (Bill) and S. Maxine Lee (Keith).

He is survived by: his wife Marilyn (York); his children, Connie Terrones (Bob) and Dale Barrie (Pat); and his grandchildren, BJ Terrones (Sari), Karl Terrones (Colbi), Barb Painter (Chris) and Missy Barrie. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Gilbert Education Foundation, 103 Mathews Dr., Gilbert, IA, 50105, designated special project gift honoring William Barrie.
