He is survived by: his wife Connie Johnson of Ames; his children, Doug Lastine (Beth) of Urbandale, Jana Sobecks (Brian) of Glenview, IL and David Lastine of Ames; and his grandchildren, Kyle Lastine, Sara Lastine, Briana Sobecks, Josie Sobecks and Teddy Sobecks.
