He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Hollingsworth and Gwendolyn Hollingsworth (Mayer); and his parents-in-law, John and Helen Fitzgerald. He is survived by: his wife Maureen Fitzgerald of Ames; his children, Liesl Roorda (Brian) of Montezuma, Britta Dimler (Kirk) of Adel, Kirk Hollingsworth (Teresa) of Eldora and Jennifer Britt of Boone; his grandchildren, Spencer (Katie), Sidney, Waverly, Isabella Roorda, Konnor, Kadyn, Kelby Dimler, Zachary (Ashley), Tyler (Ariel), Brock, Izaak, Wyatt, Taya, Megyn Hollingsworth and Megan Britt; his siblings, Devon Hollingsworth (Carol) of Dekalb, IL and Cheryl Devoto (Elias) of Waukee; and his aunts, Wilda Kooker and Glenda Nehring. He is also survived by numerous cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the DSM First Men's Ministry, as that was close to Dewell's heart.
