She was predeceased by: her parents, Virginia Hartwell Hearding Davidson and Otto Conrad Davidson, Jr.; and her husband Richard Kohler Richards (Dick). She is survived by: her children, Elizabeth Richards (Joe Hardesty) of Albuquerque, NM, Albert Richards (Roxanne) of San Francisco, CA and Jane Richards of Boulder, CO; her grandchildren, William Richards, Lauren Richards, Jonathan Richards, Jay Hardesty (Rosemary) and Jordan Berry; and her siblings, Jean Schallenberg and Otto. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
Because of the corona virus pandemic, the family is postponing a Memorial Service until family and friends can safely travel and gather.
Virginia supported many non-profit organizations including Raising Readers, the Ames Public Library, and the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation.
