He is survived by: his wife Mona Kay of Ames; his daughters, Deanna Hesson (Rusty) of Ames and Lona Graham (Steve) of Story City; his grandchildren, Melissa Nelson (Adam), Heather Bauerkemper, Scott Short (Sarah), Ryan Rowe (Liz), Bryce Rowe (Terrie) and Elizabeth Pearson (Levi); his brother Ronald Short of Perry; and his sisters-in-law, Carolyn Sealine (Nyle) of Chariton, Judy Bennick (Duane) of Ames and Joan Bothwell (Mark) of Ankeny. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
