Victor George Gostomski Obituary

It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Victor George Gostomski of Ames, Iowa, who passed away at the age of 84, on January 30, 2025. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Gostomski and Ruth Ann Gostomski (Vrba); his wife Sandra Kuhn of Joseph's Church; and his siblings-in-law, Rosemary Koehler, Roger Reinhard, John Mueller and Richard Koehler.

He is survived by: his children, Susanne Schlink of Peoria, Robert Gostomski (Kristen) of Des Moines and Ruth Ann Gostomski; his grandchildren, Annie Lallier (Tyler), Sarah McKenney (Alex), Jack Gostomski and Bo Gostomski; his great grandchild Madison Lallier; and his sister Joanne Reinhard. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A rosary was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the St. Cecilia Catholic Church (2900 Hoover Ave, Ames, IA 50010). Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.

“Vic and I were classmates at L-P, 1958.. He and I were two of the "four caballeros" that hung together, partied together, shared weddings, attended class reunions while always making sure we would all be attending! The bond, the love, the respect, the mischief,, the memories we made and shared repeatedly were near and dear to our hearts. I will take those memories to my grave. To Rod, Jim and now, Vic, I am deeply saddened. Save me a spot at the bar. Love you all. Vaya con Dios, Jerry .”
