He was predeceased by: his parents, Vince Schieffer and Delores Schieffer (Schachtner); his brother Tom Schieffer; and his brother-in-law Tom Gill. He is survived by: his wife Julie Gill; his children, Catherine Edsall (Todd) of Bangkok, Thailand, Nicholas Schieffer (Nikole) of Ames, Joseph (Amanda) of Parker, CO, Ann Knudson of Ames, Patrick O'Bryan (Anne) of Ames and Sean O'Bryan (Lora); his grandchildren, Delaney, Cormac, Declan Edsall, Tillman Schieffer, Lewis, Ivy, Fiona, Henry Schieffer, Kamden, Lukas Knudson, Quinlan, Alec O'Bryan and Michael O'Bryan; his siblings, Steve Schieffer (Diane) of Creston, Scott Schieffer (Colleen) of LaCrosse, WI, Mark Schieffer (Alice) of Maryville, MO, Jane Mahan (Kevin) of Creston and Jodi Mobley of Creston; and his sisters-in-law, Debbie Schieffer of Waukee, IA, Carolyn Person of Sault Ste, Marie and Jo Roe (Rich) of Rush, NY. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and good friends.
