He was predeceased by: his parents, Neal C. Shreve and Esther Shreve (Christiansen); his parents-in-law, Viggo and Florence Lauritsen; his siblings, Pauline Harter (Dale), Neal Shreve Jr. and Mark Shreve (Arlene); and his son-in-law Mike Brodie.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Ilene Lauritsen; his children, Paul Shreve, Kelly Brodie and Karen Thiel (Denny); his grandchildren, Michael Ryan Brodie (Katy Beerhohm-Young), Emily Brodie (Nic Carnes), Amber Jacklin (Tim) and Justin Redding (Ashley); his great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Carnes, Christopher Carnes, Sophia Carnes, Isabelle Carnes, Nolan Carnes, Brodie Carnes, Lily Jacklin, Owen Jacklin, Jaxson Redding and Holden Redding; his sister Betty Williams (Gordon); and his siblings-in-law, Lance Lauritsen and Sue Baker (Gary). He is also survived by friends and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.
