He was predeceased by: his son Wes Knutson; and his granddaughter Whitney Knutson. He is survived by: his wife Garnet Knutson; and his sons, Ron Knutson (Jane), Jeff Knutson (Cherrie) and Tim Knutson (Debbie). He is also survived by 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
