It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirlee I. Petersen of Ames, Iowa, born in South Sioux City, Nebraska, who passed away on June 20, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence F. Hungerford and Margaret M. Hungerford (Gill); her husband Orville Petersen; her son Garth Petersen; and her siblings, Mary Sweem, Joseph, John "Jack", Mark and James Hungerford.
She is survived by: her children, Valarie Petersen of Ames, IA, Jim (LoJean Petersen), Jane (Keith Petersen) and Vonise Petersen; and her grandchildren, Sarah, Nathan Buss, Josh Petersen, Ioana West, Hannah, Drew Eanes, Tera and Chris Petersen.
