He was predeceased by: his parents, George Jones and Clara Jones (Scott). He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Blair; his children, Rodney Jones (Joany) of Maxwell and Kimberly Pinneke (Blake) of Ankeny; his grandchildren, Ashley Jones, Amanda Laraia (Bryan), Jordan Jones, Katie Jones (Shannon), Christian Pinneke (Melissa), Anna Jones, Janaee Jones and Haley Jones; his sister Joyce Hatfield; and his sisters-in-law, Jayanne Jones and Joyce Jones.

Visitation was held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the LifePointe Church (409 13th St, Ames, IA 50010). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
