He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Dick Nicholas and Verna Edna Voetberg (Doolittle). He is survived by: his wife Thelma Ross; his children, Janis Voetberg, Linda Paschka (Voetberg) and Dr. Gary Voetberg; his brother Allen Voetberg; and his sisters-in-law, Dorothy Voetberg and Pamela Voetberg. He is also survived by six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine or the St. Paul Lutheran Church Preschool.
