He is survived by: his children, Richard "Rick" Ashburn Jr. of Story City, Jodi McGonigle of Ames, Laura "Lori" Ashburn (Donnie Jones) of Ellsworth, Matthew Ashburn (Elke Withers) of Ames and Lucas Ashburn of Utah; his sisters, Wilma Derik of Maine and Melba Smith (Dwayne) of Davis City; and his sisters-in-law, Victoria "Vicky" Ashburn of Des Moines and Kathy Ashburn of Boone. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In honor of Rich's memory, memorial contributions can be made to the Cedar Place Assisted Living Community in Story City, Iowa.
